Born and raised in the Chicago suburbs, Dr. Peters attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she received her undergraduate degree with Honors in Biology. She then moved to Nashville, Tennessee to attend Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and received her M.D. in 1995. Dr. Peters stayed at Vanderbilt where she completed residencies in both General Surgery and Plastic Surgery. She is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a member of both the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
